I'll pass on the template.
Also binaries have important use cases. For example I package pandoc-bin
because I (and probably many others) can't be bothered to build all 10
million Haskell dependencies for one app.
I'm open to *-bin on binaries, but for the few users who care enough to
fuss over the difference, I bet they're building their own.
FreeBSD does ports and pkgs. That's another solution but a lot of
overhead.
