I have postgres installed; it'a always been my default RDBMS and is used
constantly.

SAGA is a raster-based GIS developed by physical geographers that focuses on
terrain analyses. It complements GRASS and offers some different models so
it's good to have available.

I've not thought about it because I've not used SAGA extensively, but I do
keep GRASS data in postgres databases and since the two tools can interact I
suppose SAGA looks for data in a postgres database if it's not in the
default GRASS sqlite3 database.

Perhaps postgres could be listed as an optional dependency?
