My bad, I guess I didn't read the entire thread, (I use by-date and not 
threads in my mail and most list groups are auto marked as read by sieve 
- yes, my choice), however, my opinion is same.

We didnt call postfix postfix-bin and so on, built or pre built, who 
cares, so no, just use the standard naming convention for the binary, 
ie: postfix, or  yourbinary...

I use binary packs from proprietary companies for billing system, 4G5G 
service management, and so on, they dont call their binaries foo-bin or 
foo.bin even, they use the standard naming convention, ie "foo". I dont 
see any problem that needs solving here.
